Mission
The Trained Eye Arts Center is a nonprofit multi-disciplinary art center that supports the arts in Bloomington, Indiana by providing resources and educational programs designed to nurture artistic expression and broaden participation in the arts.

We are especially interested in promoting sustainable concepts in art and living, demonstrating cooperative principles, and educating the public about the benefits of art-making.

Vision
As a nonprofit cooperative, our membership is comprised of Resident Artists and other artists and volunteers from the community who donate some of their time and energy to various committees that fulfill our mission. Some of our current projects include civic beautification and mural work, developing an open campus for art classes, eco-conscious studio, sustainable gallery, and community garden space. We envision a creative oasis dedicated to the enhancement of the northwest side of Bloomington and the community as a whole.
